Our Contentious Tax team at Fieldfisher is a leading force in the UK, boasting more qualified lawyers practising exclusively in the field than any other firm. With decades of experience in all types of tax disputes, we offer expert advice on contentious matters related to tax. Our team's work encompasses disclosures to HMRC, civil enquiries, criminal enquiries, litigation before the tax tribunals, professional negligence actions, and restitution, rectification, and rescission claims before the High Court and non-UK courts.
We are a friendly and open team that operates at a high level while maintaining a healthy respect for work-life balance. Our team members work seamlessly between our London and Birmingham offices. Long recognised in both Chambers and Legal 500, our Contentious Tax team was shortlisted for Litigation Team of the Year at The Lawyer Awards 2022.
The role will involve working across our busy and profitable contentious tax practice, with the majority of time spent on tax professional negligence claims. Key responsibilities include:
- Related commercial disputes;
- Rescission and rectification claims;
- Part 8 claims against HMRC.
We are seeking a UK qualified lawyer with 6-8 years' PQE and experience in tax professional negligence claims. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic team player with a commitment to quality and client care, excellent case management skills, and strong academics.
