Job Summary

The City of Liverpool College is seeking a skilled Construction Technician to provide technical support to staff and students in the Construction Crafts Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising workshop spaces, maintaining tools and equipment, and preparing plans and schedules to meet the requirements of planned activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for the Construction Craft staff and students, and at times, other departments within the School.
  • Supervise workshop spaces, including the maintenance of tools and equipment, and prepare plans and schedules to meet the requirements of planned activities.
  • Liaise with the Deputy Head of School to ensure an inventory list is in place and accounted for, to maximise the effectiveness of all specialist resources.
  • Work in collaboration with the Technician Supervisor to ensure both facility and resource upgrades are monitored, and equipment is kept current to industry standards (finance permitting).
  • Use own specialist knowledge within Construction Crafts to carry out a range of specialist and diverse tasks to support an effective, user-friendly and professional service.


Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction crafts, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. They will also have a high level of technical knowledge and be able to maintain and repair equipment and tools. A strong understanding of health and safety procedures is also essential.
