Logistics UK is a leading business group in the UK, representing the entire logistics industry, including road, rail, sea, and air transport modes, as well as buyers of freight services. Our mission is to promote the efficient movement of goods and support the UK's supply chain.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our commercial content strategy and policy initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing effective content and policy plans to drive business growth and promote Logistics UK's interests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement commercial content strategies to engage with members, stakeholders, and the wider industry.
  • Lead policy initiatives to promote Logistics UK's interests and influence government and stakeholder thinking.
  • Build and maintain relationships with decision-makers, industry stakeholders, and media representatives.
  • Produce high-quality reports, consultation responses, briefing documents, and presentations for various audiences.
  • Deliver effective presentations and engage with members and stakeholders at Logistics UK events and external conferences.
  • Inform and agree media plans and lines on policy topics and act as media spokesperson as required.
  • Support Logistics UK's engagement in designated regions and lead member engagement, managing relevant councils and working groups.
Requirements
  • Strong policy and content development skills, with experience in a relevant business area, agency, trade association, government department, or public body.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to represent Logistics UK externally at the highest levels of government and with media.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the Directorate and wider team to deliver business objectives.
  • Understanding of how public policy is developed and how to influence it.
  • Interest in logistics issues or a willingness to learn.
