About the Role

AWS is seeking an experienced professional to lead the expansion of our data centre footprint into new geographies. As a Senior New Regions Planning Manager, you will be responsible for assessing the technical, financial, and local factors that impact the launch of new regions, scaling the business, and delivering for AWS customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive due diligence in the country, spanning real estate, utilities, network, security, HR, legal, tax, and public policy, to select metro/sites and identify risks and opportunities.
  • Establish a compliant infrastructure strategy and operating model in new countries or geographies.
  • Develop cost estimates for new AWS regions, encompassing all aspects of infrastructure, and drive long-term financials and P&L statements.
  • Communicate status/progress of new regions to AWS executive leadership and present infrastructure plans for review and approval.
  • Engage with customers, sales, and internal teams to influence infrastructure solutions that best serve their needs.
  • Identify patterns from previous deployments to improve processes and planning accuracy and create economic frameworks for different infrastructure solutions.

You will join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain, and we're looking for talented people who want to help.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development, or technology experience
  • Experience bridging technical and business teams to collect and refine requirements, prioritize incoming work requests, and ensure all committed work is delivered on time
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in technical product management, program management, or engineering
  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
  • History with cloud infrastructure, data centre program/project management
  • Knowledge of data centre technical engineering requirements
  • Familiarity with P&L statements and long-term cash flow projections/NPV
