The NHS is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join its 0-19 public health team in Woking. This exciting opportunity offers the chance to make a real difference in the lives of children, young people, and their families.

As a School Nurse, you will be a key member of the team delivering a universal core service and providing targeted interventions to address health inequalities. You will work closely with the SCPHN School Nurse to develop good working relationships with named schools and the wider multi-disciplinary team.

Your main duties will include:

  • Delivering planned programmes of health promotion to children, either through one-to-one contact, group work, or school-based PSHE lessons;
  • Assisting in the preparation, planning, and delivery of the school-based childhood immunisation programme;
  • Undertaking young people's Drop In clinic in named secondary schools;
  • Providing enuresis advice and continence assessments;
  • Identifying and supporting children who have unmet health needs, and referring them to specialist services where necessary.

You will also be expected to take an active part in clinical supervision, participate in meetings, and be prepared to be flexible within contracted hours.

We are looking for someone with relevant experience of working with children, young people, and families, as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills. You should be able to prioritise your workload, work independently, and demonstrate a positive attitude with a strong degree of personal integrity.

This role is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check. The salary for this position is estimated at £31,469 to £38,308 per annum, inclusive of a 5% High Cost Area allowance.
