Account Director, Destination Marketing
We are seeking an experienced Account Director to join our Destination Marketing team, overseeing a diverse portfolio of international tourism clients, including National Tourism Organizations (NTOs), Hotels, and Resorts. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of PR strategy, crisis management, and media relations, with a proven track record in executing successful PR campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate a comprehensive media relations strategy to secure high-level placements across print, broadcast, and online media.
- Coordinate all public relations activities to ensure cohesive and effective communication.
- Harness existing media relationships and establish new contacts within business and industry media.
- Pitch to the media for editorial opportunities, both for clients and the agency.
- Craft compelling content, including press releases, pitches, and other editorial copy.
- Monitor, analyze, and effectively communicate PR results.
- Organize and host press trips to enhance media engagement.
- Evaluate potential partnerships, sponsorships, and advertising opportunities on an ongoing basis.
- Secure Influencer and Celebrity endorsements to amplify brand presence.
- Create and disseminate press releases to targeted audiences.
- Handle media inquiries and provide timely and accurate responses.
- Attend and manage key industry PR events to bolster brand visibility.
- Coordinate press conferences and other public appearances.
- Collaborate with the leadership team on new business pitches.
Requirements
- Minimum 11+ years of experience in executing PR campaigns, with experience in the tourism industry being advantageous.
- Strong understanding of PR strategy, crisis management, and media relations.
