We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Consultant to join our Rheumatology team at Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant in Rheumatology, you will play a key role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our Rheumatology service.

About the Role

This is a fixed-term appointment of up to 12 months, working full-time (10 sessions per week). You will be responsible for the care of a mixed pool of patient referrals from the community and other specialties, both urgent and routine. You will also lead on the care of patients admitted to hospital, working closely with the Same Day Emergency Services (SDEC) team.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality patient care, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with rheumatological conditions.
  • Lead on the care of patients admitted to hospital, working closely with the SDEC team.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective care pathways.
  • Contribute to the development of our Rheumatology service, including the design and delivery of educational programs and quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

We are looking for a Consultant with a strong background in Rheumatology, who is able to work collaboratively as part of a team. You should be on the GMC Specialist Register for Rheumatology, or be within six months of your CCT date at interview.
