Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated full-time Human Resources Lead to join our collaborative and nurturing team at Faversham Medical Practice.

Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, from 9am to 5pm.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Business Manager and General Practitioner for HR, focusing on recruitment, employee retention, staff engagement, HR process optimization, and the daily HR operations within our practice.

Additionally, the role will involve providing essential management and leadership skills to train and develop Line Managers in HR practices relevant to their responsibilities.

Responsibilities in Human Resources

  • Address the staffing needs of the practice, including recruitment, retention, development, and disciplinary actions for all personnel.
  • Oversee recruitment processes to ensure staffing levels meet operational requirements, in collaboration with the Business Manager.
  • Manage the GP Registrar Scheme, coordinating with GP Trainers and relevant stakeholders.
  • Facilitate staff induction, performance appraisals, and training opportunities, ensuring staff are equipped to excel in their roles.
  • Conduct regular reviews and appraisals for Line Managers and salaried GPs, including return-to-work interviews.
  • Establish effective systems for resolving disputes and grievances, working with Line Managers and external HR advisors.
  • Authorize requests for leave and manage time-off requests appropriately.
  • Stay informed about changes in employment legislation and ensure compliance across the organization.
  • Maintain and secure HR documentation, including employment records and policies.
  • Set and monitor key performance indicators for the practice, analyzing data and reporting to the Business Manager.
  • Attend and contribute to team, management, and external meetings as necessary.
  • Lead initiatives to manage change effectively, engaging with staff and stakeholders.
  • Develop HR policies aligned with best practices and organizational goals.
  • Participate in ongoing training and personal development as agreed with the Business Manager.
  • Foster a culture of positive employee relations and collaboration.
  • Support payroll processing as needed.
  • Encourage and mentor staff to enhance their capabilities in delivering patient-centered care.

  • Collaborate with the HR team to implement effective solutions.

  • Actively engage in meetings, preparing agendas and distributing minutes as required.
