Nursery Manager Role Overview

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Nursery Manager to lead our team at Bright Horizons Lancaster Day Nursery and Preschool, based in Lancaster.

This is a full-time position with a salary of £39,605 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.

The nursery offers a secure and stimulating outdoor space, surrounded by trees, with excellent transport links, including parking onsite, multiple bus routes stopping nearby, and being a 15-minute walk from the train station.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead our nursery teams to deliver outstanding care to all children in your setting
  • Drive employee engagement, retention, and performance in the nursery through inspirational leadership
  • Work in partnership with Recruitment and HR to ensure nursery is fully recruited, encouraging diverse workforce
  • Role model and mentor nursery team to ensure highest quality early childhood practice and experience for all children, including those with special education needs and/or disabilities
  • Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead at the nursery, holding overall responsibility for day-to-day running and management of safeguarding and child protection policies
  • Work in partnership with HR to identify succession plans for the nursery team and nurture, create and continuously develop pipeline of high performing colleagues, building strongest talent pool in the sector
  • Engage with Local Authority to understand local offer, to support practice in all areas of the nursery
