Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Inverness, Scotland. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for managing multiple projects from tender to final account, providing crucial commercial support to operational teams and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee projects from tender to final account, ensuring accurate project cost forecasts and effective management of subcontract works packages.
  • Produce detailed project cost forecasts, managing subcontract works packages, including interim assessments and change management.
  • Handle daily commercials on projects, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Manage procurement processes, including subcontractor procurement and contract management.
  • Interpret and evaluate expenditure reports, identifying areas for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Prepare and issue subcontractor documentation, ensuring compliance with NEC contracts.
  • Assess compensation events and issue early warning notices, ensuring timely and effective commercial management.
  • Provide commercial support to operational teams and stakeholders, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or relevant discipline, with a strong understanding of commercial management and subcontractor procurement.
  • Experience with fast-paced, high-volume projects, preferably in the water sector.
  • Proficiency in commercial management and subcontractor procurement, with a strong understanding of NEC contracts.
  • Demonstrated experience with project cost forecasting, subcontract works package management, and commercial support to operational teams.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact with internal and external decision-makers.
  • Professional qualifications such as MCICES or MRICS, or working towards full membership.
