Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Supply Chain Strategist to join our team at Harland & Wolff. As a key member of our procurement function, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing our supply chain strategy, driving operational efficiency, and adding value to our business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive supply chain strategy that aligns with our business objectives
  • Prepare tenders, EOI's, and Framework Agreements to ensure best practice
  • Assist in the creation and delivery of templates to support procurement processes
  • Support project teams in the onboarding of new suppliers and stakeholders
  • Negotiate pricing with key suppliers in line with our group purchasing strategy
  • Manage and develop our supply chain and procurement function to ensure it remains best-in-class
  • Review and assess suppliers for Major Subsystem Work Packages, ensuring suitability and willingness to deliver end-to-end services
  • Develop strategies for subcategories, including direct and indirect procurement
  • Review and implement new processes for supplier onboarding and due diligence
  • Work with stakeholders to identify requirements for inclusion in categories
  • Familiarize yourself with regulatory requirements and latest innovations in your area of expertise
  • Cascade best practice and guidance to the remainder of the procurement team
  • Liaise with suppliers on KPIs and contractual issues
  • Map cost levers for subcategories and support the creation of value engineering models
  • Support the development of ESG metrics within our supplier base
  • Deal with queries and complaints from internal departments

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree and relevant experience in supply chain management or a related field
  • Relevant business, manufacturing, or engineering degree or proof of relevant experience
  • MCIPS or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of different types of contracts and contract law
