About the role

This role is based in Harlow, with blended and flexible working available. You will be required to work in the office 2-3 days per week. As a key member of the IT team, you will work closely with senior management, scheme partners, and suppliers to deliver an IT service that meets our business needs.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversight of IT infrastructure planning, development, and maintenance
  • Ensure robust IT business continuity plans are in place
  • Procurement of IT hardware, software, and maintenance in line with company policy
  • Maintenance of IT policies and procedures to ensure statutory compliance
  • Management of data exchange procedures with scheme partners and government agencies
  • Compliance with licensing requirements for hardware and software
  • Responsible for managing hardware and software updates to ensure system compatibility
  • Continuously monitor and improve system and data security

IT strategy and leadership

  • Design and implement an IT roadmap aligned with the Motability Foundation's digital, data, and technology strategy
  • Provide technical and professional support to executives in reviewing IT investment strategies
  • Lead emerging IT opportunities and threats, providing recommendations to executives
  • Maintain a structured project development methodology to ensure only relevant projects are initiated
  • Ensure the successful delivery of approved IT projects against agreed timelines, deliverables, and budgets

Partnering with the business

  • Act as a partner to the business in identifying and delivering digital solutions
  • Work with senior management, scheme partners, and suppliers to propose, agree, and deliver IT services
  • Seek feedback from the business on the IT service provided and develop action plans to improve it

Leading the team

  • Manage, develop, and motivate the internal IT team of 12
  • Monitor performance against service level targets and provide constructive solutions to problems
  • Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities

Managing costs

  • Responsible for IT budget of approximately £**(£ salary)**
  • Provide regular and ad-hoc reports to present to the executive team
  • Raise and approve regular and ad-hoc IT purchase orders
