Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled High Voltage Technical Lead to join our team at Liberty Steel Group. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise in the maintenance of our high voltage infrastructure.
About the Role
The High Voltage Technical Lead will be responsible for:
- Providing technical guidance and support to the engineering team in the maintenance and operation of high voltage infrastructure.
- Managing high voltage resources to ensure the department meets the required standards of plant availability, costs, and performance.
- Liaising with transmission and distribution network operators to coordinate activities related to the interface of external high voltage networks with our site's internal high voltage networks.
- Providing a strategic overview of longer-term requirements for existing assets and future site developments.
- Negotiating contracts with suppliers of services and equipment to achieve the required standards of service and cost.
- Ensuring that engineering teams and specialist contractors' activities comply with all statutory health, safety, and environmental legislative requirements.
- Organizing training and development for the engineering team to provide a safety-conscious and technically competent workforce.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- At least 5 years' experience in maintaining high voltage infrastructure, with a strong technical knowledge of electrical principles relating to high voltage utilities supply.
- Experience in man management, with good communication skills and the necessary leadership skills to motivate a skilled and flexible workforce.
- A good knowledge of health and safety and environment legislation, with the ability to implement the requirements as part of departmental operations.
Working Arrangements
This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday.
