Unlock the Power of Quantum Computing

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Developer to join our team at Universal Quantum, a pioneering company in the field of quantum computing. As a key member of our software development team, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and integrating software to operate and utilize our quantum computers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Develop Software: Create high-quality software to operate and utilize our quantum computers, working closely with our multidisciplinary team of electronic engineers, physicists, and hardware designers.
  • Collaborate with the Team: Work collaboratively with our team to analyze issues, investigate, create, and communicate solutions, and lead the development of components within our software stack.
  • Benchmark and Optimize: Benchmark, profile, and optimize Quantum Computing processes, algorithms, and software to ensure optimal performance.
  • Work with a Multidisciplinary Team: Collaborate with a team of experts from various disciplines to design, build, and maintain our quantum computing software stack.
  • Evaluate and Document Systems: Evaluate and document the systems you help design, build, and maintain to ensure they meet our high standards.

Requirements:

The 3 Most Critical Attributes We'll Use to Compare Candidates:

  1. Solid Programming Experience: Solid programming experience in Python or Rust, with a strong understanding of software development principles.
  2. Commercial-Quality Software Experience: Experience designing, developing, debugging, testing, maintaining, and profiling commercial-quality software.
  3. Collaborative Team Player: A collaborative team player with good communication skills, able to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Must-have Skills:

  • 3+ Years of Experience: 3+ years of experience designing, developing, debugging, testing, maintaining, and profiling software using C, C++, Python, or Rust.
  • Writing High-Quality Code: Writing readable, high-integrity, efficient, and well-documented code.
  • Designing Multi-Threaded Applications: Experience designing and developing multi-threaded and cross-platform applications.
  • Experience with Containers: Experience with containers (docker), cloud deployment, and optimization.
  • Good Understanding of Data Pipelines: Good understanding of data pipelines and databases (both relational and non-relational).
  • Familiarity with Git: Familiarity with Git and experience with collaborative design and development, and code reviews.
  • Pragmatic Approach: A pragmatic approach to decision-making and design choices.
  • Previous Experience in Start-ups: Previous experience in start-ups or dynamic work environments.

Nice-to-have Skills:

  • Experience with Distributed Systems: Experience with distributed systems and cross-process communications.
  • Experience Working in a Multidisciplinary Team: Experience working in a multidisciplinary team and collaborating with applied scientists.
  • UI/UX and App Development Experience: UI/UX and app development experience using a popular framework (e.g. Node).
  • Bachelor's/Master's Degree: Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline.
