About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Director of Estates to join our team at NHS South West London Integrated Care Board (ICB). The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the future of healthcare estates in our region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of the health estate in South West London, including primary and community care.
  • Lead the development of the South West London infrastructure strategy, ensuring alignment with the Joint Forward Plan and local borough plans.
  • Provide expert advice and assurance to the ICB and wider system on estates governance and financial management.
  • Work closely with regional colleagues to support organisations in meeting regulatory and policy requirements.
  • Lead on the investment prioritisation framework to address health inequalities and access issues.
  • Develop solutions for local estate requirements, including space planning, national or regional projects, and minimising void space.
  • Support the One Public Estate programme and strive to influence membership across the 6 Boroughs.
  • Identify and evaluate estate options, working with stakeholders to explore opportunities for collaboration, rationalisation, and transformation of the estate.
  • Analyse best practice and market innovations for estates solutions.
  • Present to internal and external stakeholders on matters relating to ICS estates.
  • Prepare estates reports for the ICB Board, committees, and meetings.
  • Provide professional support and advice to the Estates team and stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Educated to masters level or equivalent level of experience in a specialist area.
  • Extensive knowledge of specialist NHS estates areas, acquired through postgraduate diploma or equivalent experience or training.
  • Evidence of continued professional development.
  • Member of a relevant estates professional body.
  • Subject matter expertise across key areas relating to estates costing and appraisal.
  • Demonstrated experience in a Healthcare environment.
  • Experience of managing and motivating a team and reviewing performance of individuals.
