Job Title: Estate Officer

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Estate Officer to join our team at Lotherton Estate. As an Estate Officer, you will play a key role in the management of the estate, including the formal gardens, woodland, open green spaces, and commercial opportunities.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in estate management, with experience in managing staff, developing and implementing management plans, and ensuring the upkeep of assets and infrastructure. You will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, stakeholders, and the public.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the development and promotion of the estate in line with management plans.
  • Supporting the management of the estate and facilities to develop and enhance a positive visitor experience.
  • Ensuring that the ethical and statutory requirements for the well-being of all livestock and/or other zoological collections are met.
  • Providing on-site support to organisers for events and activities, ensuring Health and Safety and legal requirements are met.
  • Compiling and providing performance information that is accurate and timely as requested.
  • Representing the Parks and Countryside service at internal and external meetings.
  • Ensuring the procurement of goods and services is in accordance with financial regulations, corporate policy, and legal requirements.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • NVQ Level 3 (Horticulture/Management) or equivalent, combined with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
  • Ability to monitor and review performance.
  • Ability to manage and deliver projects to agreed timescales, quality, and budget.
  • Ability to access remote sites efficiently.
