Palaeoclimatologist Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Palaeoclimatologist to join our research team at the University of Leicester. As part of a Leverhulme Trust-funded project, you will be responsible for supporting our efforts in understanding Earth's climate in the Ediacaran and Cambrian periods.

The role involves working both collaboratively and independently to collect, develop, and analyze geological and palaeontological datasets. You will also have opportunities to conduct overseas fieldwork and present your findings at international conferences.

About the Role:

• The role involves working with a team of researchers from the University of Leicester, Cambridge, and Burgundy universities
• The project includes opportunities for overseas fieldwork and international conference presentations
• The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their skills and expertise in palaeoclimatology

Requirements:

• PhD in a relevant palaeoclimatological, palaeontological or geological discipline
• Experience in working with palaeoclimate proxy data
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience
