Our company, a leading consultancy in the Highways sector, is currently seeking a skilled Clerk of Works to join our team on a contract basis. This role is crucial for ensuring that construction projects comply with contract drawings, specifications, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Monitoring and inspecting construction work to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards
  2. Liaising with contractors and project managers to address any issues or discrepancies
  3. Preparing detailed reports on construction progress, workmanship, and quality
  4. Ensuring health and safety regulations are followed on site at all times
  5. Verifying materials, equipment, and labour are in accordance with project requirements
  6. Documenting and reporting any variations from the contract
  7. Conducting regular site visits to keep abreast of project developments
  8. Providing feedback and recommending corrective actions when necessary
Requirements:
  • Experience in a Clerk of Works role or similar
  • Strong understanding of construction processes and methodologies
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify potential issues
  • Proficiency in preparing detailed site reports
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Sound knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Relevant qualification in construction or a related discipline
