Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our Distilleries Engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering CAPEX and special revenue projects that increase site capabilities and improve process efficiency.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage individual engineering projects across distilling sites, excluding maintenance and operations.
  • Implement defined engineering activities to address plant issues, replacement kits, capacity and productivity increases, health and safety, and environmental improvement initiatives.
  • Develop initiatives for an optimal and sustainable future plant and infrastructure setup.
  • Identify and quantify development plans for input into site Master Plans, including relevant budgets and justification.
  • Provide detailed data to support project prioritization exercises and manage projects for progression.
  • Detail project concept and approach, ensuring comprehensive and technically realistic requirements.
  • Conduct financial analysis and provide suitable justifications for full capex submissions with clear investment cases.
  • Identify potential suppliers, develop optimal sourcing approaches, tender for best overall costs, and fine-tune chosen options to deliver maximum value-add with contractual protections.
  • Deliver projects to full satisfaction of operational teams, in line with approved project scope and quality, and ensuring optimal cost and timelines.
Requirements
  • Degree-level qualified or equivalent project management experience.
  • Particular expertise in Process Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical).
  • Ability to travel to distillery sites in Girvan and Dufftown, when required.
  • Experience in using project management methodologies.
  • Knowledge of current health and safety and environmental compliance.
  • Experience in using Continuous Improvement techniques and analysis.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
