Workshop Metalwork Specialist

British Airways is seeking a skilled Workshop Metalwork Technician to join our Aircraft Workshop Services team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, and fabrication under the supervision of our experienced engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance tasks that fall within the scope of workshop authorization
- Rectify defects in accordance with approved maintenance data
- Component changes arising from schedule maintenance inspections
- Fluent in performing general visual inspections, detailed visual inspections, and other methods of surveillance inspection, maintenance checks, and tasks as defined within limitations of approved authorization
- Issue certificate release to service
- Develop and train knowledge share and provide coaching
- Perform PC-based documentary transactions as required and make full use of modern technologies/processes
Requirements:
- Recognized engineering apprenticeship or equivalent
- Recognized education qualification, ie NVQ Level 3 or HNC
- Experience working in an aircraft maintenance environment as appropriate to hold workshop authorization
- Experience of working with SAP and production support processes
- Understanding of internal procedures and awareness of quality, health safety, human factors, and environmental legislative requirements
- PC literate and good understanding of BA engineering IT systems
- Understanding of BA employment policies and processes
