About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Custody Nurse to join our dynamic team at HCRG Care Group. As a Custody Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality healthcare to individuals in police custody.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake comprehensive clinical assessments and provide care to individuals in police custody.
  • Provide healthcare interventions to manage minor illnesses or injuries and refer onwards for more serious conditions.
  • Undertake forensic examinations of individuals in police custody and record any injuries or DNA evidence.
  • Collect specimens as required under legislation and provide written statements as needed.
  • Attend court or tribunal as required and maintain accurate clinical records.
  • Assess alcohol and drug intoxication and withdrawal, identify vulnerabilities, and safeguarding pathways.
  • Support the clinical governance agenda of the organisation and administer medications through PGDs and PTPs.
