About the Role
Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant General Surgeon to join our team. This exciting opportunity will allow the successful candidate to develop their expertise in benign Upper GI services, while contributing to the provision of high-quality patient care.

Job Summary
The appointed consultant will be responsible for delivering exceptional clinical services, encompassing outpatient clinics, theatre sessions, ward rounds, pre-operative assessments, post-operative assessments, and on-call duties. Additionally, they will participate in research, clinical audit and risk management, administration, education, and training activities.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality clinical services, ensuring excellent patient outcomes
- Participate in research, clinical audit, and risk management activities
- Contribute to the development of educational programs and training initiatives
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide integrated services

Requirements
- MBChB/MBBS or equivalent qualification
- FRCS certification
- GMC registration
- Proven experience in teaching, research, and leadership roles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Working Environment
The successful candidate will be based at Prince Charles Hospital in Merthyr Tydfil, with opportunities to work across various sites within the organization. They will be part of a dynamic team committed to delivering exceptional patient care and improving healthcare services.

Salary and Benefits
The salary for this role is £106,000 to £154,760 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, the appointee will receive a range of benefits, including access to ongoing professional development opportunities, a comprehensive pension scheme, and a generous annual leave allowance.
