About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to lead our Cost Control team and support High Tech and Manufacturing projects in the North East. As a key member of our team, you will work collaboratively with clients and stakeholders to provide realistic baselines and embed effective controls to monitor progress, manage issues, and mitigate slippage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and improve project breakdown structures, ensuring accurate data integration from various controls functions.
  • Develop and lead estimating sessions to establish cost-effective and market-tested baseline costs.
  • Plan and coordinate project schedules, integrating procurement timelines and stakeholder requirements.
  • Manage risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to ensure schedule and cost predictability.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure sign-off on project baselines and maintain open communication regarding regular progress updates.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience in delivering cost control services in major projects or programmes.
  • A strong understanding of high-tech and manufacturing industries, with experience working in similar sectors.
  • Experience managing multi-functional teams, with excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using software applications such as Primavera (P6), Power BI, and Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and start-up processes.
  • The ability to work autonomously, while also being a reliable team player.

Salary and Benefits

This role offers a competitive salary range of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
