Key Responsibilities- Execute laboratory work following provided synthetic routes and contribute innovative ideas to other projects when challenges arise during synthesis.
- Design and develop chemistry for custom synthesis projects, leveraging expertise in carbohydrate, nucleoside, or related research.
- Work efficiently in the laboratory to meet project deadlines, adhering to company policies and regulations.
- Carry out characterisation and data analysis, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Perform all laboratory work in a safe and controlled manner, complying with regulations and company policies.
- Execute lab work for own project, delivering high-quality results within given deadlines.
- Prepare progress and final project reports, highlighting achievements and areas for improvement.
- Manage Synthetic Chemist 1, Synthetic Technicians, or industrial placement students, providing guidance and support where applicable.
- MSc or PhD graduate chemist, preferably with industrial experience after university or PhD with no industrial experience.
- Proven record in a wide range of synthetic chemistry, with expertise in carbohydrate, nucleoside, or related research.
- Experience in scale-up chemistry (up to 20 ltr scale) is highly desirable.
- Process chemistry experience is also desirable.
