Job Title: Service Technician

Canadian Solar Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Service Technician to join our team in the UK. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for commissioning and completing preventative and corrective maintenance of our Solbank Storage Power Block (SPB) systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance of SPB systems, including Power Conversion Stations (PCS), Ring Main Units (RMU's) / Switchgear, and SCADA and networking devices.
  • Provide onsite diagnostic, troubleshooting, and hands-on support to maintain equipment and achieve availability and capacity guarantees.
  • Oversee and supervise sub-contractors on site where required.
  • Ensure inventory of spare parts is accurate.
  • Support client training during commissioning.
  • Adhere to all health and safety rules and policies.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Electrical Technician with a minimum of 5 years' relevant work experience in a service environment, preferably in renewable energy.
  • CSCS Certified.
  • Previous training and knowledge of inverters.
  • Knowledge of general and national codes, medium voltage power systems, and Energy Storage system applications is an asset.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using MS Office Applications (Word, Excel).
  • Previous experience with a CMMS software program preferred.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to travel to regional locations as needed (over 80% of time).
