Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at TimePlan Education. As a Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who require additional support and guidance in a challenging yet rewarding environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement and lead lesson plans and activities as a HLTA
  • Assist students with alternative learning methods
  • Provide one-on-one support to students requiring additional help
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to foster a positive learning environment
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff
  • Provide opportunities for small group work, and individual support in addressing targets identified in ILPs and EHCPs
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally those who have exhibited challenging and often complex needs, and behaviours that prevent them from attending a mainstream school
  • Ability to educate and engage students effectively, delivering academic work via 1:1 sessions with pupils
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Resilience, high expectations, and a sense of humour
  • Full Driving License and access to a car (mileage expenses will be covered)
  • GCSE Maths and English or equivalent qualifications
  • Enhanced DBS clearance or willingness to obtain one
