Job Description
We are seeking an experienced SQL Database Administrator to join our team at GCS Ltd. As a key member of our IT department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our database systems.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining effective database functions, providing corporate data access, and maintaining data security and integrity. You will also deliver guidance and system solutions to enable business growth, install, upgrade, monitor, and tune database software, control database backups and recovery, and implement and monitor access control policies.

This is a contract role, and the estimated salary is around £60,000 per annum, based on industry standards. The successful candidate will have excellent technical skills, including experience with Microsoft environments, database design, and optimization, as well as proficiency in Azure managed instances, PAAS, and SQL Server database operating systems.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain effective database functions.
- Provide corporate data access and maintain data security and integrity.
- Deliver guidance and system solutions to enable business growth.
- Install, upgrade, monitor, and tune database software.
- Control database backups and recovery.
- Implement and monitor access control policies.

Requirements:
- Experience in Microsoft environments, database design, and optimization.
- MS Azure Experience.
- Azure managed instance, PAAS.
- SQL Server database operating experience.
- Organise and prioritise work activities, manage, configure, and optimise the database environment.
- Microsoft certification or equivalent in Database administration.
