The successful candidate will be part of the Safety Assurance team for the Trident Submarine programme and will be responsible for ensuring the safe operation of the Strategic Weapons System. This is an excellent opportunity to work on the development and maintenance of complex Safety Cases and to develop strong working relationships with multiple stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining and developing the Design Safety Statement for the Strategic Weapons System
  • Reviewing identified hazards for impact, mitigation options and sentencing
  • Liaising with Trident Systems Project Team and US organisations through UK/US Technical Exchanges to understand the Joint Safety Schedule

Additionally, you will be required to develop and maintain strong working relationships with multiple stakeholders, including project teams and international partners.

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you will need to have a Degree-level qualification in a STEM discipline or equivalent relevant experience. You should also have experience in working on the development and/or maintenance of complex Safety Cases and integrating complex systems and/or systems engineering.

  • Experience in managing activity under the DSM Key Safety Function (KSF)
  • Knowledge of weapon systems and/or submarine design
  • Ability to navigate complex organisational constructs

We estimate the salary for this position to be between £50,000 and £60,000 per annum, plus benefits, and requires hybrid-working with 4 days per month on-site.
