As a Dementia Care Specialist Nurse at Wrightington Wigan & Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of people with dementia and their families. We are seeking an experienced and compassionate nurse to join our team and lead our Admiral Nursing Service.

About the Role

This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires strong leadership and communication skills. As an Admiral Nursing Service Lead, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to improve the care and support provided to patients and families affected by dementia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support workforce development in dementia to improve staff knowledge and skills across the organisation.
  • Apply the Admiral Nurse Competency framework at a specialist level, including person-centred care, therapeutic skills, and triadic relationships.
  • Work collaboratively with health, social and voluntary sector services to achieve coordinated care.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A registered nurse qualification (RMN/RGN/RNLD) with formal knowledge of dementia acquired through clinical post-graduate education.
  • Significant post-registration clinical experience of working with people with dementia and their carers/supporters in different settings.
  • Experience of professional supervision of staff.

We offer a competitive salary of £42,058 - £56,358 per annum, depending on experience, and a range of benefits including access to ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
