About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant and Learning Mentor to join our team at a school that specializes in supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support pupils with SEMH needs in both group and one-on-one settings
* Assist in the delivery of tailored lesson plans, ensuring each student's individual needs are met
* Help manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour using positive behaviour management techniques
* Encourage the development of social and emotional skills, fostering a positive, growth-oriented mindset
* Provide support during transitions between activities, ensuring students remain focused and engaged
* Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other staff to implement EHCPs effectively
Requirements:
* Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs is highly desirable
* Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
* A caring, patient, and nurturing approach to working with vulnerable young people
* A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* The ability to adapt to changing situations and individual needs
* Passionate about helping students succeed both academically and emotionally
