Finance and Accounting Apprentice

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Finance and Accounting Apprentice. As a key member of our finance team, you will assist with various accounting tasks and financial administration, gaining valuable experience and skills in the process.

Responsibilities:

  • Process supplier invoices and credit notes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with organisational procedures
  • Reconcile supplier statements and investigate discrepancies, providing timely resolutions
  • Monitor and follow up on unapproved invoices and expense claims, maintaining a high level of attention to detail
  • Handle supplier and expense payment queries, providing excellent customer service
  • Assist with payment runs based on aged creditor analysis, ensuring timely payments
  • Support quarter-end and year-end close processes, contributing to the smooth operation of our finance function

Requirements:

  • GCSE English and Maths (grade C/4 or above)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages, especially Excel and Word
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and good organisational skills
  • Discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality, with a willingness to learn and apply new skills
  • Empathy towards working in a professional environment
