Traffic Engineering Project Manager

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Traffic Engineering Project Manager to join our team at Gloucestershire County Council. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing projects related to traffic engineering and highway design. Your primary goal will be to reduce the number of serious and fatally injured people and provide greater infrastructure for walking and cycling, enhancing quality of life.
About the Team & Role:
You will have a keen interest in and a commitment to road safety and sustainability. In this role, you will project manage traffic engineering projects through their life cycle, working with in-house and external teams to deliver design solutions and construction phases. You will be responsible for programme, risk, and budget management, building and maintaining excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will also work with colleagues to bid for funding and ensure that projects follow required policies and processes.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will need to have experience in highway and traffic engineering design and project managing highway and traffic engineering projects. You will be experienced in producing and managing programmes and have a track record of effective stakeholder collaboration. You will also need to be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines and have experience of bidding for project funding. Additionally, you will need to understand sustainable travel principles and the impact of engineering on environmental issues, as well as be committed to health, safety, welfare, and equal opportunities.
