The role of Electronics Repair Cell Engineer offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated candidate to expand their competence and drive their personal development within an internationally recognised company.

Job DescriptionThe Candidate
  • The candidate should ideally have electronics expertise at graduate level or equivalent experience, but most importantly will have a good level of technical understanding of general electronics used in an industrial control system.
  • The candidate should demonstrate an ability to think innovatively and apply engineering knowledge.
  • The candidate should have an enquiring mind and desire to learn new skills and a willingness to share knowledge.
Skills and Experience
  • Able to work to deadlines with a high quality and accuracy.
  • Dynamic and proactive with ability to work on own or as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team to resolve technical issues.
  • Ensure correct and accurate technical documentation is generated consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
  • Ensure management of equipment calibration in line with process, all due equipment submitted on time.
  • Ensure the implementation of 5S, ergonomics and standardisation of the repair cell.

Must have experience of:

  • Basic repairs and fault diagnostics (CTs and NXCT COSI Chassis).
  • Working with firmware and software (uploads).
  • Test setup and familiarisation (software and hardware).
  • Desiccant canister renewing.
  • Burn in testing.
  • Voltage dielectric withstand (Hi Pot) tests.
  • Temperature sensor tests.
  • CT linearity and calibration tests.
  • Splicing and marry up processing for fibre optics.
  • Fibre optic cannister replacement.
  • Splicer maintenance and TPM.
  • Fault diagnosis specific to the temperature test procedure.
  • CT column build and dielectric gel injection.
  • PCB component level diagnostics.
  • Root cause analysis investigation and reporting.
Specific Abilities
  • Comply with all quality procedures, work instructions, and processes.
  • Report or resolve any non-conformances and process in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrate commitment to safety through participation in formal and informal discussions.
  • Adhere to all safe working procedures in accordance with instructions.
  • Ensure safety work instructions are complied.
  • Participate in the resolution of safety issues.
  • Comply with the GE code of ethics and values.
  • Strict adherence to standards and legislation.
