Data Engineering Lead - Entertainment Business - Manchester

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and experienced Data Engineering Lead to join a dynamic team at Robert Walters.

The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing the strategy for Data Engineering, overseeing activities required in the delivery and maintenance of quality data to support the Data & Analytics team.

This includes the development, operation, and maintenance of data pipelines to extract, load and transform data sources from both internal and external providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, operate, and maintain data pipelines that extract, load, and transform data from various sources.
  • Drive standardisation and efficiency within the Data Engineering processes.
  • Work closely with other Heads of Data and Analytics to understand their needs, prioritising tasks accordingly.
  • Provide consultancy to business Data Analyst teams on complex issues related to onboarding new data sources and building new Data Products.
  • Collaborate with IT Architecture to establish standard technology patterns and frameworks for data ingestion and transformation.
  • Manage a team of 3 Data Engineers, providing leadership, coaching and mentoring.
  • Consult on the complexity and feasibility of onboarding new data sources and building new Data Products.

Requirements:

  • Strong experience with Azure, focusing on Azure Data Lake, Databricks, Azure Data Factory and Power BI.
  • Experience with SQL and Python, ideally as implemented on Databricks.
  • Proven experience in leading, prioritising, implementing, and managing Data Engineering activities across multiple data products and pipelines.

Working Arrangements:

The business requires the Data Engineering Lead to be in the office 2x Per week (Tuesdays & Thursdays).
