This role would suit a Senior Registrar taking a year out of training or a GP with a license to practise wanting to expand into a different role.

Role Overview

The Associate Clinical Director will work alongside all functions across Medefer (including Medical Directorate, Clinical Governance and Quality Assurance, Safeguarding, Primary Care and Operations) to support in ensuring that all patients served by Medefer receive high quality, safe, effective, and compassionate health care.

Key areas of responsibility within the role will be within the domains of clinical safety and support, quality improvement, risk investigation and mitigation.

Job Responsibilities
  • Working with the Patient Safety team to support both local and companywide investigations and processes including harm reviews.
  • To support the Medefer Safeguarding Lead with investigations and the implementation of safeguarding procedures.
  • Coordinating clinical audits, both proactive and reactive, into care quality providing feedback and escalating as appropriate.
  • Provide clinical support (with support of the Chief Medical Officer and Medical Director) during the week to non-clinical and junior staff members.
  • Supporting implementation of new clinical services including clinical pathway mapping.
  • Support registrars in conjunction with the deputy medical director, operational and HR teams, including managing queries, feedback and investigations into SEs related to registrars.
  • Support building and scaling processes surrounding the roles and responsibilities covered under this job description.
Your Skills and Qualifications
  • Registrar or GP with a minimum of 3 years' experience in your current role.
  • GMC registered with a licence to practice.
  • Clinical qualifications and background within the NHS.
  • Knowledge of standards and DCB0129 and 0160 requirements.
  • NHS informatics experience preferred.
  • Has attended Safeguarding Level 3 training (both adults and children) (training would be considered for the right candidate).
  • Project Management skills, principles and practices.
  • Excellent work ethic and resilient - organised, dedicated and committed to professionalism.
  • Highly adaptable, mobile, positive risk-taker who is open to new ideas and able to evaluate risks and constraints.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to identify and understand customer needs and strives to provide the best possible service, focuses on outcomes.
  • Computer literate and interested in working with technology/fast-paced organisations. Intermediate to advanced level of Microsoft Office skills.
  • Commercially aware with an ability to understand commercial initiatives and decisions, understands pressures and the demands on others.
Benefits and Compensation

The salary for this role is £60,000-£80,000 per annum, paid in line with national pay scales relevant to your level of training and experience.
