About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Community Inspector. As a key member of our property inspection team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that residential properties in the Barnet area are accurately assessed for council tax banding.

As a Community Inspector, your primary responsibility will be to conduct regular inspections of domestic properties and sites with planning permission, as well as visiting commercial properties. You will establish liability or entitlement to tax discounts, exemptions, or reliefs, in accordance with legislation and policy.

You will also be responsible for taking appropriate action where reliefs no longer apply, ensuring the database is accurate, complete, and up-to-date. This requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular inspections of domestic properties and sites with planning permission
  • Visit commercial properties to assess tax banding
  • Evaluate liability or entitlement to tax discounts, exemptions, or reliefs
  • Take action where reliefs no longer apply
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date database

Requirements:

  • A full driving license and access to a vehicle
  • Computer literacy and ability to use handheld devices
