About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Scientist to join our Product & Science Team at BenchSci. This is an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and contribute to the development of innovative solutions in biotechnology.

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be responsible for designing and implementing ontologies to enhance data integration and support AI-driven drug discovery processes. You will collaborate closely with our Engineering team to develop and deliver data integration plans that guarantee interoperability and seamless integration of diverse biomedical data.

This role requires strong expertise in biomedical data and a deep understanding of biological concepts and terminologies. You will have the opportunity to analyze complex data and develop logical, ontological structures to ensure data integrity and compliance within ontological frameworks.

Requirements
  • A minimum of 7+ years of industry experience in ontology development and management, particularly in biotechnology or life sciences.
  • Proficiency in ontology languages (e.g., Protégé), ontology query language (SPARQL, cypher, SQL, GQL), and some familiarity with relevant programming languages (e.g., Python).
  • Familiarity with ontology reasoning tools, particularly in the biology domain (e.g., li>)
  • Experience with applying these tools for tasks like classification and consistency checking in biomedical ontologies.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is $120,000 - $160,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a robust vacation policy, comprehensive health and dental benefits, and a generous parental leave package.
