About the Role:

Purpose: To carry out various electrical installation works on Technology SBU projects.

Location: This is a site-based role, requiring regular travel to clients' sites to suit the demands of the current work portfolio.

Dimensions: Supporting the site-based delivery on projects ranging in size from £5K to £5m, and duration ranging from a single day to multiple years.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Electrical installation of LV equipment, including MCCs, local control panels, distribution boards, and instrumentation.
  • Carry out electrical surveys of sites, establishing methods of installation and creating reports to detail findings.
  • Contribute to and/or create risk assessments and method statements for packages of work.
  • Undertake the role of Competent Person in-line with Electrical Safety Rules.
  • Work alongside software engineers to ensure I/O is present and serviceable as required.

Essential Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years electrical experience within a medium or large organisation.
  • Good planning, organisational, and time management skills.
  • Excellent IT skills, including MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Good understanding of electrical installations and control systems, including control panels/MCCs, PLC, SCADA, instrumentation.
  • Willingness to undertake an annual performance 1 to 1 review and attend internal and external training courses.

Qualifications:

  • NVQ level 3 in electrical installation or equivalent.
  • BS 7671: Requirements for Electrical Installations.
  • Good basic education, particularly in English language and grammar.
  • Knowledge of BS EN 60947 Power Switchgear and Control gear Assemblies (advantageous).
  • Knowledge of BS EN 60947 Low-voltage Switchgear and Control gear (advantageous).
