Occupational Therapist, Clinical Educator and Practice Specialist

Job Summary
An experienced Occupational Therapist is required to lead the development of clinical education and practice within North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality training, education, and clinical support to occupational therapy staff, ensuring that they possess the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver excellent patient care.
Main Duties
Lead on the guidance and support of pre-reg, postgraduate, apprentices, preceptees, international recruits, and return-to-practice OTs across the NCIC OT network.
Be clinically competent to support clinical development and provide pastoral support for overseas recruits during the recruitment, appointment, induction, and preceptorship periods.
Work alongside OT Leads to ensure newly appointed or promoted staff are integrated smoothly into the workforce and new roles, including standardising competencies for development roles.
Support the development and postgraduate study towards extended scope and Advanced Practice.
Create Communities of Practice across the system for support staff to guide career development opportunities.
Lead on the development of appropriate learning environments, training, and internal progression periods to drive the integration of theory and continued competency with practice, including the assessment and provision of equipment.
Work collaboratively with other Educators and attend Educator Forums, working in partnership with stakeholders to ensure the development of inter-professional learning opportunities.
Link with the AHP Faculty and Council, maximising relevant opportunities.
Contribute to developing policies, guidelines, and scope of practice.
Stay current with national initiatives supporting the education and development of the OT profession.
