Job Title: Band 5 Community Rehab Occupational Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join our team at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. As a rotational Occupational Therapist, you will have the opportunity to work in various specialty pathways, including Acute Medicine, Older People, Stroke, and Trauma & Orthopaedics.

Job Purpose:

The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a Specialist Occupational Therapist or Team Lead, rotating through different specialty pathways on a 6-monthly basis. You will be responsible for managing a full clinical caseload, working independently as part of a specialist pathway team in each rotational area.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Undertake comprehensive assessments and accurate diagnoses of patients, using investigative, palpatory, analytical, and clinical reasoning skills.
  2. Formulate individualized clinical management programs, utilizing a wide range of treatment skills and options to plan a suitable program of care.
  3. Provide advice, teaching, and instruction to relatives, carers, other disciplines, and agencies.
  4. Participate in multidisciplinary/multi-agency team meetings and case conferences to ensure the coordination of patient care.
  5. Ensure accurate, comprehensive, and up-to-date clinical records are maintained.
  6. Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and other healthcare professionals.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to be a registered Occupational Therapist with a strong clinical background and excellent communication skills. You will also need to be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours.
