Leeds, Leeds, United Kingdom Hydrock Full time

We're looking for an experienced Senior or Principal Sustainability Consultant to lead and grow our BREEAM services and team locally.

This is an outstanding opportunity to join our highly influential Smart Energy and Sustainability team, shaping the approach that organisations are taking to decarbonisation and a net-zero future.

As a key member of our collaborative and growing team across the UK, you'll help with the development and delivery of a pipeline of exciting and complex projects.

We're passionate about our subject matter and shaping the UK's response to the climate emergency.

Our team is a unique blend of engineers and consultants, delivering a wide range of project inputs for our clients from the earliest inception stages and onwards.

As an inclusive employer, we welcome applicants from all backgrounds and walks of life and offer a range of flexible benefits, including climate perks and an EV car leasing scheme.

Key responsibilities include leading the delivery of BREEAM projects, managing workload to meet project deadlines, and reviewing project details to develop targets for sustainability.

You'll also be responsible for communicating sustainability requirements to internal and external team members, producing reports providing advice and guidance to clients and project teams, and attending site visits to review progress against sustainability targets.

To succeed in this role, you'll need excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills, a thorough understanding of the construction industry, and experience managing projects and client relationships.

We're looking for someone with a proven track record of project delivery, experience with Part L modelling and LCA, and emerging business development and sales skills.

Our driving motivation is to be a 'Force for Good', improving the quality of people's lives and working towards a green future.

Named as Building's Engineering Consultant of the Year in 2023, we're known for delivering outstanding sustainable projects for our communities, planet, and society.

We champion diversity, equity, and inclusion, and offer flexibility to achieve this aim.

We consider all applications individually, with the required qualifications and knowledge, without regard to any personal characteristics.

Once you've completed your application, we'll aim to review and respond to you as soon as possible.

A member of our Talent Acquisition Team will call you for an initial pre-screen by phone to help us assess your motivations and interest in the position and Hydrock.

If you progress, you'll be invited to attend a formal interview by video conference or in our offices.

We're a lively, good-spirited team, excited about what we're doing and enjoying each other's company, and we'll give you a warm welcome too.

We're passionate about helping clients to unlock cheaper, cleaner, and more reliable energy and maximise the potential economic and environmental value of their projects.

Our work includes net-zero carbon studies, planning application support documents, climate change studies, ESG strategy, Life-Cycle Carbon and Cost Analyses, renewable energy development, and carbon management verification.

We use a wide range of project inputs to deliver sustainable projects for our clients, from the earliest inception stages and onwards.

We're a multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy, with over 900 staff in 21 offices across the UK, and we're committed to being a 'Force for Good'.

We're known for delivering outstanding sustainable projects for our communities, planet, and society, and we've received industry accolades for our work.
