Prime Appointments is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer - Multiskilled to join their Plant Maintenance Team in Chelmsford.

This is an exciting opportunity for a facilities professional with experience in maintenance and operations to work on high-profile projects.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in facilities maintenance, preferably within a manufacturing environment, and be able to work shifts consisting of five days on and three days off.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain existing plant and equipment, providing technical support and quality service to other areas of the business.
  • Work on a shift cover scheme for maintenance functions, covering out-of-hours tasks and breakdowns.
  • Manage and control allocated Preventative Maintenance tasks on plant, maximising utilisation and ensuring any potential risks are identified and managed.
  • Ensure all statutory/legal maintenance tasks adhere to company procedures, policies, and legal requirements, and ensure compliance to HSE governance.
  • Communicate with customers and other members of the facilities group regarding any issues.
  • Assist in the development of best practices within Facilities.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience gained within a Facilities maintenance role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • NVQ (3) or above in Mechanical and/or Electrical engineering is essential.
  • Experience with water systems, electrical distribution, fire alarms, air-conditioning, control systems, BEMS/Trend systems, process chillers, and A/C systems is preferable.
  • Experience of Preventative Maintenance is required.
  • Must be physically fit and willing to undertake medical on site.
  • Candidates must reside within a 30-minute commute of Chelmsford and be a British Passport holder.

Estimated Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience.
