Job Title: Experienced Field Service Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to join our team at The Generator Company. As a key member of our Service Department, you will be responsible for carrying out preventative maintenance on a variety of diesel-powered generator sets, including routine servicing, maintenance, installation, and repair.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out preventative maintenance on diesel-powered generator sets, including routine servicing, maintenance, installation, and repair.
  • Fault diagnosis and rectification of engine, alternator, and control systems.
  • Generate detailed service reports and liaise with contract managers and head office.

Requirements:

  • Sound knowledge of the power generation industry.
  • A background in servicing and maintaining diesel engines, alternators, and/or controls.
  • Good working knowledge of mechanical and electrical principles.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment under own initiative.
  • Work with full adherence to the company's H&S, quality, and environmental policies.
  • Able to understand and complete risk assessments.
  • Required to participate in the on-call rota.
  • Professional communication internally and externally.
  • Full UK driving license is required.
  • ECS or other industry certification desirable.

Benefits:

  • £35,000 to £45,000 basic salary+overtime depending on the experience of the applicant.
  • 20 to 23 days holiday, including bank holidays and birthday off paid.
  • Unlimited overtime is available on weekdays and weekends.
