We are looking for an experienced Ecological Consultant to join our small, friendly, and professional team at Norfolk Wildlife Services. As a key member of our consultancy, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality ecological services to our clients.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in ecology or a related field and a minimum of 2 years' experience working in ecological consultancy or equivalent sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading protected species surveys and assessments, including bats, great crested newts, water voles, reptiles, and Schedule 1 birds
  • Carrying out site and habitat surveys and assessments to inform conservation management decisions
  • Providing conservation management advice on species and habitats
  • Working as an Ecological Clerk of Works on selected projects

Requirements:

  • A degree in ecology or a related field
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience working in ecological consultancy or equivalent sectors
  • Experience of ecological field survey work
  • Understanding of relevant UK environmental legislation
  • Membership of (or working towards such) the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM), or equivalent professional body with professional code of conduct

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum
