About the Role

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the accounting team to ensure timely and accurate maintenance of company records.
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly management accounts for all companies on a timely basis.
  • Provide concise and accurate information to directors/managers.
  • Maintain a cash flow summary for the business.
  • Produce annual budgets and variances for the company.
  • Aid directors with ad-hoc financial reporting and strategic planning.
  • Contribute key insights to the company's financial strategy and decision-making processes.
  • Oversee payroll administration, auto-enrolment reporting requirements, VAT return preparation, and submission.
  • Liaise with accountants for statutory reporting and audit requirements.
  • Develop and implement internal financial accounting, monitoring, and reporting systems.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role in a commercial environment.
  • Experience within the Haulage industry is beneficial but not essential.
  • ACA/ACCA qualified.
  • Excellent communication skills; fluent spoken and written English.
  • Advanced knowledge using SAGE.
  • Experience reviewing and implementing changes to finance systems.
  • Someone with a can-do attitude and strong analytical skills.
  • Good knowledge of Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Demonstrate positivity, approachability, and an investigative nature.
  • A practical understanding of management accounting principles and techniques.
  • Solid knowledge of standard accountancy and finance best practices.
  • Solid IT skills, including proficiency in relevant accounting packages.
  • A strong understanding of tax principles and laws.
What We Offer

We estimate the salary for this position to be around £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
