Job Overview

This is a challenging and rewarding role within our Mental Health Services team, offering a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our service users.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Psychiatry Specialist to join our team, providing high-quality psychiatric care to patients referred to our Community Mental Health Team (CMHT).

The successful candidate will have a strong background in psychiatry, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Main Duties of the Job

  • To provide psychiatric care to patients referred to the SWK CMHT, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
  • To provide medical input to the SWK CMHT Team, including contributing to multidisciplinary meetings and providing guidance on complex cases.
  • To ensure effective liaison occurs between mental health services and the acute hospital, and also with other agencies in the voluntary and statutory sectors as appropriate.
  • To undertake additional duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances, as required.
