Volunteer Companion Role

At SeeAbility, we are seeking a reliable and friendly volunteer to join our team as a Companion Volunteer. This role is an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals with learning disabilities and autism who may also have sight loss.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend activities with individuals, promoting social interaction and companionship.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with individuals, their families, and other volunteers.
  • Support individuals in achieving their goals and aspirations.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Be kind, empathetic, and friendly.
  • Have a good sense of humour and enjoy chatting.
  • Be punctual and reliable.
  • Be able to deal with information in line with our data protection and confidentiality procedures.
  • Be able to assist when necessary with sighted guide/orientation.
