About the Role
As a CAD Engineer for Industrial Equipment Development, you will be responsible for designing and developing specialized machinery utilizing SolidWorks. You will produce technical information, drawings, and associated schedules and documents, adhering to H&S requirements, designs, specifications, and standards.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date drawing files and records throughout the project.
- Liaise with colleagues to resolve day-to-day issues related to the CAD/PDM system.
- Work closely with the Network Manager to ensure smooth software and hardware updates and upgrades.
- Attend customer visits to commission and test machines and resolve any problems that may arise.
- Verify that as-built specifications are correctly recorded, and system functionality is thoroughly tested and proven before commissioning.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree-level education or HNC/D level or equivalent qualification in a mechanical engineering or design discipline.
- Prior experience in 3D modeling with SolidWorks is essential; knowledge of the packaging industry or special-purpose machine design would be beneficial.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to assess risk.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to influence customers effectively.
Requirements
- A current driving license and passport are necessary for this role, as occasional travel to customers may be required.
