About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Social Worker to join our dynamic Children's Assessment Team in Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding the well-being of children and families. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  1. Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families referred to the team, gathering information, interviewing clients, and analyzing their needs.
  2. Developing individualized care plans that address identified needs, taking into account the child's strengths, aspirations, and circumstances.
  3. Collaborating with other professionals, including health providers, schools, and community partners, to ensure a holistic approach to support.
  4. Advocating for children's rights and needs, ensuring they have access to appropriate services and resources.
  5. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records, adhering to relevant legislation and policies.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., DipSW, CQSW, BSC Social Work)
  • A valid Social Work England registration
  • Experience in conducting assessments and developing care plans
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with diverse individuals
  • A deep understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and safeguarding procedures
  • A commitment to child-centered practice and promoting the well-being of children
