About the Role:This role is situated within our Applied AI consultancy, serving clients in our Government & Public Services business unit. As a Lead Machine Learning Engineer, you will split your time between designing, building, and deploying production-grade software, infrastructure, and MLOps systems, as well as offering leadership and mentorship to more junior engineers on the team.
Due to the potential for working with National Security and Policing clients, you must be eligible for Security Clearance. Additionally, occasional travel to locations outside of our London office may be required.
Key Responsibilities- Designing, building, and deploying production-grade software, infrastructure, and MLOps systems
- Offering leadership and mentorship to junior engineers on the team
- Collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders to deploy ML solutions
- Developing new methods and championing best practices for managing AI systems deployed at scale
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- An understanding of the full machine learning lifecycle, including deploying trained models using common frameworks like Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
- A solid grasp of probability and statistics, along with familiarity with common supervised and unsupervised learning techniques
- Experience in software engineering, including programming in Python
- Proven experience with cloud architecture, security, deployment, and open-source tools on major cloud platforms like AWS
- Demonstrable experience with containers and Docker, Kubernetes
- A track record of growing technical capabilities, adopting a caring attitude towards personal and professional development, and nurturing a collaborative engineering culture
As a Data Science Engineering Team Lead at Faculty, you can expect a competitive salary of £110,000 - £140,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for career growth and development.
